The City of Florissant runs a sewer lateral program that can cover repair of the line from roughly five feet outside your foundation out to the MSD main. The part inside and immediately outside the house stays yours. It starts with a televised camera inspection showing the defect — which is what we do, and the footage is yours whether or not we make the repair.

Does the City of Florissant pay for sewer lateral repair?

Do you offer emergency plumbing in Florissant?

Why does my drain keep backing up?
In a house built in the 1960s it is usually one of two things: cast-iron drain pipe that has scaled inward, or roots in a clay sewer lateral. A camera inspection tells you which, and the second one may be partly covered by the city.

My water is rusty in the morning. What is that?
Almost certainly original galvanized supply pipe corroding from the inside. It is common in homes built before about 1970 and it does not improve on its own.
Do you charge for an estimate?
Scheduled estimates are free. Diagnostic work on an existing problem — locating a hidden leak, running a sewer camera — has a fee, which we credit toward the repair.
Can you camera my sewer line before I buy a house?
Yes, and on a Florissant house from this era we would strongly suggest it. A standard home inspection does not include the sewer lateral, and a failed lateral is a five-figure surprise.
