Florissant homeowners

The city may pay for your sewer line repair

Florissant runs a sewer lateral program most homeowners never hear about until it is too late to use it.

The City of Florissant runs a sewer lateral program that can cover repair of the line from roughly five feet outside your foundation out to the MSD main. The part inside and immediately outside the house stays yours. It starts with a televised camera inspection showing the defect — which is what we do, and the footage is yours whether or not we make the repair.

Our standards

How we work

We are a newer name here, so instead of borrowed testimonials, here is how we operate. Hold us to it.

Priced before we start

You approve the number before any work begins. Emergency or scheduled, you never find out what it cost afterward.

North County, not the whole metro

Based in Florissant. We are not dispatching from South County or St. Charles, so the arrival window we give you is a real one.

We know these houses

Clay laterals, cast-iron drains, galvanized supply. Sixty-year-old plumbing fails in patterns, and we plan for them instead of discovering them.

Camera before we dig

No sewer work gets quoted off a guess. We put a camera in the line, show you the footage, and let you decide.

A real arrival window

Not a vague promise about sometime today. You get a time, and a call if it moves.

Clean when we leave

Drop cloths, shoe covers, and the work area put back. Your house should not look like a jobsite once we drive away.

Questions

Common questions

Does the City of Florissant pay for sewer lateral repair?

For qualifying residential properties, the city lateral program can cover repair of the line from about five feet outside the foundation out to the MSD main. It starts with a camera inspection showing the defect. Our guide walks through the whole process.

Do you offer emergency plumbing in Florissant?

Yes. Burst pipes, sewage backups, no water and failed water heaters are handled outside normal hours. Call and we will tell you what to shut off while we are on the way.

How much does a plumber cost in Florissant?

It depends on the job. Drain cleaning starts around $150 for a single fixture; a water heater replacement typically runs $1,500 to $2,800 installed. Our cost guides break down real ranges before you call.

Why does my drain keep backing up?

In a house built in the 1960s it is usually one of two things: cast-iron drain pipe that has scaled inward, or roots in a clay sewer lateral. A camera inspection tells you which, and the second one may be partly covered by the city.

What areas do you serve?

Florissant, Hazelwood, Ferguson, Black Jack, Bellefontaine Neighbors, Spanish Lake and nearby North County communities.

My water is rusty in the morning. What is that?

Almost certainly original galvanized supply pipe corroding from the inside. It is common in homes built before about 1970 and it does not improve on its own.

Do you charge for an estimate?

Scheduled estimates are free. Diagnostic work on an existing problem — locating a hidden leak, running a sewer camera — has a fee, which we credit toward the repair.

Can you camera my sewer line before I buy a house?

Yes, and on a Florissant house from this era we would strongly suggest it. A standard home inspection does not include the sewer lateral, and a failed lateral is a five-figure surprise.
